A Quick Note on Smart Shafts

Talked to the Cue & Case reps in Vegas. The USS shaft is discontinued. If you want one, you'd better get going, i.e. limited to current stock. However, the Lucasi Hybrid will be, if it hasn't already, be using the same shaft, albeit without the wood "joint" 4 inches from the real joint. Same LD shaft, same piezo electric cloth and all of that. If you know where to look, some dealers will have these same shafts for other joints, et. al. I've got both 1st Gen 314 and the USS and I'll have to say that I prefer the USS.

C&C said they had a few left, but not many. Billiard Warehouse may have a few. I may have to fill out my adapter collection as these will be going by the wayside also. Too bad. I love the shafts. The issue for you is that you love the regular deflection shaft and that will not be made any longer in any incantation, as far as I know. Thankfully, I have a supplier that knows what they are doing, so it may be that post USS life will not be that bad. Let me know how you make out Koop.

too bad, the uss is a great shaft, i have one. at least it will live on in the hybrid line. they should make partials available, that would be great to be able to mate and match it to cues
