A simple, quick question

What type of adhesive do cue makers use to glue/set a pin into the butt of a cue? Thanks!

I use epoxy but not much of it. If the prong has been bored and tapped correctly for good tolerances, to much glue cannot be used as there is no place for it to go and you will hydraulic the forearm, destroying the cue. The pin is only there to hold the shaft to the prong. The bond only needs to be slightly stronger than the resistance the shaft has on the pin when screwing together or apart. I was told that Gus Szamboti never used glue at all on his pins. Only friction held them in place.

I use Devcon 2 Ton Epoxy for the joint pin and West System for the Wrap-Joint screw.
