A Typical Blown Runout

dawgandy touches on something i was going to say, just stop beating yourself up and relax a bit more. you can still be passionate and dedicated without mentally torturing yourself. about six months ago i decided to change my mindset and outlook on the game. be positive, relax, dont get angry whaling cues around the room when you miss, etc etc. i'm not saying you do these particular things, but my point is that once you change your mindset on the game, change your outlook to it all, it'll benefit your game loads.

judging from the posts you keep making, you're obviously a decent player and have the ability, so it's the mental aspect that's holding you back.

relax a bit more, perhaps calm down a bit, tell yourself you arent gonna beat yourself up over a miss, dont blame other things for a loss (something i used to do). and try to stay positive. a negative thought is worse on a shot than a bad stroke! perhaps not strictly true but it's my quick attempt at a proverb and you get the point!

you obviously have your physical fundamentals pretty well honed, work on your mental ones a bit!

Here we go again...

You are thinking about all the wrong things. This will be the second time I recommend you read the book "Pleasures of Small Motions". It will help your mental game out and save us the trouble of your whining.

We all like the "How would you shoot this shot" threads, but we cant stand the "I screwed up another run out look how bad I think I suck" threads.

Keeping thinking negative and you will perform negativly.

When you get down on the shot use this instead of that crap system you posted.

1. Play the shot out in your head
2. Do not think about what will be wrong, thinking about it will make that happen (like saying to yourself "dont think about red", your gonna think about red)
3. Find pleasure in the 6 balls you sank perfectly to get you in the good position you are now.
4. Line up your shot and take it using whatever aiming system you use.
5. Stop *****ing to us, I choked on an 8 ball last night and lost 15 bucks in a cheap rack of 8-ball, did you see me posting about what I did wrong, NO.

Seriously I am trying to help you, read "Pleasures of Small Motions" it will put your head in the right spot when you are shooting. It has improved my game since I started it and I am only half way through it. Your mental game is horrible. Mine was terrible as well (not as bad as yours) but it is improving.

BTW. Spot b does make getting on the 9 harder, but its still not hard at all. Just shoot the shot on the 7 with a little low and slide out, if you hit it with to much low so what, make it work. Ray Charles could have ran that out.

dealing with the regret from the pool table has made dealing with things elsewhere much easier.

and the philosophy of the sport where playing your best can still get you beat its new to me.

I used to be more reactive as a player. Nowadays the patience has gone up. And I can wait my turn until I make that difference on the table.

Knowing I can make shots its just a nice thing to know.
