between 6 to 8 1000ths in diameter , 3 to 4 1000ths thick
joint @ .832 rough
.840 + or - a couple 1000ths finish size
Mine is somewhere around .003 or .004 thick. I can't say for sure as I turn my cue down to .842 at the joint with a straight taper to 1.217 at the butt cap. I then sand the cue where the joint is down to at least .836. I then build my finish and when completed and dried I wet sand back down to joint size of .842 on my carbide masters. The finish starts out thicker than this but .842 is what it ends up at after polishing. I can't say exactly what the thickness is for the rest of the length of the cue because I doubt if I sand it as much as I do at the joint area where being sanded smooth enough is not sufficient as it has to be both smooth and this exact size so that the shaft is a matching fit.
