Hello ,

I enjoy watching this match for some reason or another, I really like seeing Willie play the banter that Fats keeps releasing. It is funny and takes you back to the day when pool was pool, The originals at work. I have a version from youtube that is not in the best of quality , it has a lot of tape tracking error's and bits of commercials . I find it odd that this was never released on vhs or dvd. I have searched high and low and no luck. I did have a member here said they had it on dvd but in poor quality so problay not better than what I have. Does anyone have this show on vhs or dvd in good quality . I would like to find a version that is not to bad, I will gladly pay for it . I find it hard to believe this does not exist somewhere in decent quality. Thanks

Made for tv hokum imo. Willie still played ok but Fats was just a blowhard then. I remember watching it when it was new. Didn't really like it then either.
 
Garczar , to each is their own. I enjoy it just for the fact to get to see Willie Shoot. The part where they interview them at home is pretty cool to. I like history and seeing the great's in action
 
Every time a thread comes up about the Mosconi/Fats competitions on Wide World of Sports, so many thoughts and emotions go through my head.
I’m not sure how old I was when they first aired, but I was a teen. I had my drivers license but still lived at home with my parents.

Wide World of Sports was must see TV and the opportunity to see pool on TV was mostly unheard of. It wouldn’t matter how they shot. We were ready to be impressed. I’m not sure if anyone had a VCR then, but my family certainly didn’t. So the opportunity to record it was not available. TV was poor quality then, so no wonder all the recordings are poor quality.

The availability of great pool produced, by the live streamers, now is unbelievable. For those that didn’t get to experience the rarity of available pool, in video form, in the mid 70’s, can’t imagine how incredible it was to see these two play on TV.

exactly , That is why it is so nostalgic to me and I get a kick out of seeing it. I would have thought this would have been officially released on dvd or vhs at some point
