Abe Rich Cue????

Some may be skeptical it is a rich. From the angle you can't really see the screw but it looks like it may be an 18 Abes were usually 14 and had a flat top to the screw, but who knows. It could just as easily be an old National cue as well. Then again, an old national would be somewhat collectible also. If you look at the ebay history on Rich cues they bring quite a bit considering; something is scaring off the bidders so far.

Your right, most Abe cues still go for around at least $200 or more. The listing you provided is from his nephew Howard Rich. He now owns Abes shop or the contents of it. He is the best bet on ebay for an authentic Abe cue, I would think. He goes by hrichwood on there.

I have seen a number of these cues, and in my opinion it is certainly a Rich Cue, however, not from the 1950's, more like the 1960's.

I have seen these cues sell all over the spectrum, from the $38 this cue sold for to a $150. There just is not enough collector interest, based upon the number that were made which I would not even venture a guess on, except to say in my opinion many thousands.

I'll go out on a limb and say without holding the cue, someone picked up an Abe cue for $38 + shipping. Abe had both SS and brass collars in his shop. He also had 14 and 18 thread brass and SS pins and 3/8-10 brass and SS pins. Whether he used them in his cues or not can't say.
 
I can't say for sure whether the one you posted is or isn't one....but the Rich cue I owned had that joint and those joint rings.
