Abe Rich Florida Cue?

I recently got this beastie. I think it's an Abe Rich Florida Cue. As you can see, it has a brass joint with a short, flat-topped (non-pointed) pin that seats deeply into a noticeably long, pronounced pilot on the shaft. It weighs 19oz, has a 12.75mm tip, 58" in length, rolls straight together and apart (thankfully), has a thick butt like my other various Rich cues, and is a good shooter. The bumper screw is not epoxied, but is hard to turn, so I'm not gonna force it, lol. I re-tipped it, but unsure if I like the yellow, but the thinking was that it would match the ring in the butt sleeve.

Can any of you pool cue gurus confirm? And if it is, then it looks like it is possibly from the 60's?

That sure looks like one of his cues. I used to go to the shop all the time when he was on Star island. I didn't go there much when he was doing Florida cue in the back of his brother's shop, Rich wood turning in Miami. It was kind of uncomfortable cuz he just had a little corner in the back of the shop.

The original Florida cues had this ugly decal on it of the State of Florida maybe about an inch long. They were the kind of decals that were water transferred like you have for plastic models. If the decal isn't there and the cue hasn't been refinished there might still be some indication as it was once there.

He once made me a nice cue a hoppie style and I didn't want the decal. He got kind of mad at me but he didn't put it on. He used to get mad at me all the time. He was a funny guy.

Sweet Cue...! And yes, it definitely an Abe Rich Florida Cue... I love the butt sleeve color combo he chose and actually have a few that are similar myself... Congrats on your newly acquired piece of "Rich" Family history...!
