I came across an old abe rich on a website and I was wondering if anyone has any experience owning one. It is describes a a "real nice player". I think it woul dbe cool to own a hand turned cue and I heard they hit pretty well.

ANy input would be greatly appreciated

Abe Rich

Here is a cue I had made from an unfinished Abe Rich butt. Turned out nicely and plays very well.

I play with a guy that was pretty good friends with mr. Rich. He plays with one of his sneakies and he calls it his "secret weapon" I must say that it does play good.

Abe was known for his sneakies. I lived around the corner from his shop for a number of years and used to go by regularly. I owned a few of his cues, from a Florida Cue to one of his newer ones. One played like a board, the others played good. I sent one to a buddy in Indiana when he asked me to and never heard the end of it. I heard of a few .... more than a few ... that seemed to warp coming out of his shop. Could have been the salt air, he left his doors open all the time and was 4 blocks form the beach. The last 10 years or so he was alive he mostly sold imports and did repair work. If you found one you like, I'd grab it

i have an abe rich cue made in the late 1980's
still plays well very firm feel

I have an Abe Rich cue made in 1960 for road player Tommy Kaye. The cue is dead straight and plays fabulous. Its proportions were crafted after a Balabushka and the cue itself is almost 21 ounces.

I played a local tournament with it on the day I read Abe had passed. I won undefeated. (Very rare for me) That cue can do anything my modern era favorites do. I only have a limited experience with Rich cues, but it is very positive.

There is something to be said for simple well constructed cues that use old school hand technique.
