mike is 100% right .....

i fist talked with mike in Oct of 07 and hes always been good with me....

we haven't done much together however with this escapade you can see he was

above and beyond tolerant of the situation.

i will always be grateful for his nice comments as he was one of my biggest fans.

and while there is no possible reason for this to happen all i can say is sometimes life gets in the way.

thanks mike for everything you done and do in the cue world.

This post started out right and had so much promise until you ended it without giving any commitments. I'm still not sure you really understand the gravity of the situation. A proper ending would have been "your cue and your $700 refund will be in the mail today". Or "I would still like to finish your cue, and I promise to have it done and shipped out within two weeks, and for your troubles I would like to do it at no charge to you and will be returning your $700 to you by mail or paypal today. I will call you later to confirm if this will be acceptable to you, or if you would still like the cue to go out today as well with the refund."

You didn't do yourself many favors with all the other threads you started after this one either IMO.

Unfortunately you are not doing everything to complete your commitments. He asked for his cue back at this point and no longer wants you to work on it. Going to the post office isn't hard to do, and doesn't take much time. He made it very clear that is the only commitment he wants at this point. My question is why are you refusing to give him back his cue as he has repeatedly asked and demanded?

You hit the nail squarely on the head. John, no need to finish the job. Simply ship my cue back to me today. If the project is not finished, ship it together with a $700 USPS money order. That will end this.

Hell at this point I would be happy just to get the cue back and the $700.00 dollars would be an expensive lesson's learned experience. Maybe that's the hold-up on returning your cue?

Good Luck Mike...

Good Luck Mike...

John called this morning and we had a 10 minutes or so chat. He apologized for his excessive delay in finishing the project, and explained what has been going on in his life. I wish that he had made that call before my thread went viral last Monday. He does not disagree with any of the facts contained in my thread, and harbors no ill will toward me for having posted it. John told me that he has about 8-10 hours left before the project is completed, and feels compelled to finish the project. While I want my cue back tomorrow, I've decided not to escalate the matter further with legal action and give John some additional time to complete the project. I'm hoping that I get the cue back with the project completed in the next week or two. I will keep you all posted as events unfold.

Never forget, to err is human; to forgive, divine.

I just took delivery of the cue and the work John did was perfect. The refinish is flawless as is the new seamless black elephant ear wrap, which is a little bumpy, just the way I like it. The third shaft was made to the exact specifications that I ordered. John made a joint protector for the 3rd shaft, and it is a dead match to the two he made 14 years ago, way back in 2001 when this cue was made for Gary Nolan (Bushwhacker). John also refinished the original joint protectors to like new condition. I purchased a 1x2 black gator Ron Thomas case from John, and he made me an old style ivory disc for the top of the case that says: "Showman Cues." The reason that I had John do the work to this cue is because it is the best ivory jointed cue that I have ever played and wanted the work done by the original maker. Like Tate, I truly hope that John gets his life and career back on track because his cues play great and are gorgeous. Suffice to say, I'm completely satisfied with the finished product, it's just too bad that it took almost an extra year to get my cue back.

Glad you got your cue back and are happy with the workmanship. You should post a few pics.
