Just hope you dont have the problems I seem to face on a constant basis. Getting reliable...commited players.
Last night was the start of the new session. Had 4 of us show up to start. I ask one of my players...where is your son ? she replied he did not have the money for league fees. I replied well that sucks. She said if we needed him she would call him to come and she would pay his league fee. Its a long story but I pay her fee and get her things on my tab. Well he shows up and has about 3 beers while playing which he pays for himself . They cost about what his fee is...go figure.
Why am I in this situation ? Well one guy dropped off to commit to a new business venture. I honestly dont know what's up with 2 others. Just got unreliable last session and did not show even after they said they were coming. Never showed for playoffs to receive their plaques for finishing in first place. So I scratched their names off the roster last night. One other player dropped off and joined another team her friend was on.
I was able to pick up a couple guys and I thought I had a third guy.
One player plays on my Sunday team and asked to pls on my Friday team also.
Another guy got in touch with me last wed about coming back to play with me after being out a while with health issues.
Another guy is a new guy from out of town and was looking to get on a team. I talked to him last Friday and said I would take him. He never showed last night.
I seem to have more bad luck than any other 2 captains combined in keeping a full team every session.
