About to order custom pool glasses - any ideas ?

From the research I've done, seems a company called Decot makes prescription sport glasses (called "HyWyd") that may work well for playing pool. I wear typical smaller frames today & notice quite a bit of distortion looking through the very top of the lense when bent over a pool table ... I expect these larger custom glasses will help. Any info about Decot or perhaps other companies that make similar sporting glasses would be appreciated - thanks.

Go with the tint. And show up in fine, taylord suits and custom shirts with your name embroidered on the cuffs. Unless you want to scare off all the action, since you'll look like you haven't missed a shot in over a month.

seen several players use the decots and they seem to work well. i may eventually break down and get a pair. been told to have a good prescription when you do.

I wear Silhouette rimless glasses but I had the optician cut the lenses bigger for my everyday use.

Are there any glasses that won't make me look like a geek? Granted with glasses like the decot pair, I'm sure someone's gonna fight to get at me, so action is inevitable with that cooky look....but does anyone know of any others that provide the same sight range but with actual style to them? Do I really have to get the damned MC Hammer/Kojak lenses? Please someone tell me I won't have to do that!!:(

I have a pair of Decot. Excellent quality but I don't wear them because of head position needed on longer shots. I may sell them but you'd still need to get lenses from Decot. If it was me I'd buy the no line progressives but no tint.

I know someone who plays w/ the HyWyd glassses and he loves them. The design looks great to me, and I'd love to get a pair some day soon. He did tell me that you should be sure to mention you are getting them to play pool when you order, and they will know just how to set them up for you- something about adjusting them to perch high so you will be looking through the center when you bend down over the shot (all glasses are more optically correct looking through one specific point in the lens).

To the person who wants stylish pool specs - it aint' gonna happen. You need big lenses that sit high, and that is the definition of dorky. Then again, if you got enuf style, you will find a way to make it work for you.
