About 48 minutes in Appleton audits Charlie Williams event.

Appleton will organize events with better percentages for players and single elimination.

Appleton has appealing ideas for players, audience and financing. I hope best success, it will be a timely and thankless effort.

Main concern is Appleton starts off with a large event, and tries to do so much too soon. He is capable but I hope he takes small steps to ensure success and build experience with the management/planning aspects.

Its a nice listen if you enjoy talk radio, lots of UK references.

I'm really skeptical. He says he decided this after the straight pool tournament. That's literally just a few days ago. And he says at least tens of thousands of dollars for the winners of his events. He says half a million total prize money first year. I wish him the best, but there's a reason there aren't many events with big payouts like that.

I am wishfully skeptical. I think he can do it if he gets the right people on board.

Its a romantic notion- being a big time promoter, but it can also be very time consuming and expensive. And it's not real hard to make a complete mess of things. So I hope he thinks it thru, and gets some real professional help, because he, or anyone who tries this, will definitely need it, for everything to go productively.

Best wishes to Darren
