ABS or PVC?

Is abs or pvc better? I know that abs is softer but ive never worked with it. Does it polished up better than pvc? Any advantages, or is pvc better for joint collars etc.?

I feel the question is almost impossible to answer, because PVC and ABS both have various grades and mixtures. There are various wualities of both materials and the color of both can vary a lot. Neither holds a finish all that great. For ferrules the hit varies greatly among the materials also. What I am saying is that the term PVC covers a lot of different yet similar materials and so does ABS.
