Hey Acc... figured I'd reply here:
From your pronouns, I can't figure out who in that game has to make their balls in the side pockets. However, I've certainly heard of the game where I would have to make, say, 100 in any pocket and you have to make 2 in the side. You can't use any other pocket. As you can imagine, that would not be a good game for anyone. If played correctly, your only chances would be banking balls 3 rails in the side, and by the end of the game, with all the fouls I'd force you into taking, you might need to make 17 in the side
.
Whoa, 30-1?? Danny Barouty talks of Allen at one time taking even money on that! I've heard that his usual bet on it was 3-1... but 30??? OMG, he must have made a fortune on that!

Seems to me someone offered me that game years ago, and while I wasn't dumb enough to take it, after all these years I still haven't figured out why it was a bad bet. Maybe I should check with SJM too.

ACCDEALER said:It sounds like the stone cold nuts unless you have seen Allen Hopkins take 30-1 on breaking 15 balls and running all 15 into one pocket and get the cheese. It's then that you realize when someone offers you the nuts it usually isn't.
