I ordered the Joe Balsis vs Irving Crane dvd a couple weeks ago and it came today, and I am incredibly excited. Im gonna go watch it in a bit, got some stuff to do first. But I love the old pros so I can't wait to see Irving work his magic.

Also I noticed that on the DVD it mentions Accu Stats archival collection. Does this mean it is the beginning of a new category, of old pool matches?

This would be amazing, i would love to watch some matches Wimpy Lassiter, Jersey Red or any of the old pros and hustlers play in their prime. I'm sure the tv stations would have some of the Johnston City tournaments in their archives. It would just be finding the reels that would be the problem.....

FYI I finished watching the dvd last night. It is a great video of Irving Crane playing some fantastic 14.1. It is more than worth the $24.

I would highly recomend it to anyone who wants to add to their pool library.

I agree, especially with all the combinations Crane makes to continue his run especially that crazy wrap around dead ball he plays somewhere in the middle. IMO the only thing that holds it back is typical 60's comentator. I know it's supposed to be a period piece, but how awesome would it be if we could hear a detailed description of the run from someone like Grady, Dallas West, Dick Lane or Danny D?

I totally agree it would have been nice to have some knowledgeable commentary, but at the same time I was content that the commentator was almost giddy while watching the run.

I'm gonna have to watch it again there are some combos that he made that I haven't foggiest idea what he did.

But I gotta take a break from buying 14.1, I'm gonna get some one pocket next so I can learn how to actually play it.
