Since Comet is closing I was wondering what will happen to Pat's accu-stats arena. As far as I know not every poolroom is capable to host the
arena because of all the equipment that has to be installed. The only room
that I think is ideal for this is Sand Castle in Edison,N.J. Let's see what
everybody else think about my idea.

That was my first thought,,

My hat is tipped to Bill Haley. I recently met Bill and have great appreciation for what he's done for pool as a room owner. We recently discussed the billiards industry and where it was headed. I wanted to partner up with him on a Pool Room only tour in the tri-state area - no kiddie club hang outs that just happened to have pool tables. We share the same love for the game and I am destined to bring pool back into a more positive light in the world as a true sport that was first created for royalty and the elite. I hope to be able to carry on in the same fashion Bill did at Comet Billiards in my future endeavors in Sandcastle Billiards. Thank you Bill! You've got my number if you care to contact me for anything.
Comet's Tee-Shirt will be immortalized and mounted in Sandcastle Billiards!!! I'm sorry to lose what I considered a sister pool room - as far as real players' rooms went.

Sincerely,
Sandman of Sandcastle Billiards

I'm all for Accu-Stats!!!

I thank you for thinking of the Sandcastle as the next home for the Accu-Stats Arena. I would absolutely love to host the arena along with all the major tours in the area. I am on Rt.1 in Edison, NJ easily accessible from the NJ Turnpike, Garden State Parkway, Rt.440, Rt.287, NJ Transit Train Station Metuchen Stop with a cab service right in the parking lot there, Rt.18 only 4 minutes from the Hilton that previously hosted the 14.1 Championships, Rt.9 and most of the spectators and participants that went to Comet can have an even shorter trip to my pool room. The 6,000 square feet and high ceilings of the Sandcastle would be ideal for the arena. Most of the competitors that have played in the arena at Castle are already familiar with Sandcastle Billiards and have played here several times before. Sandcastle Billiards currently has 18 Brunswick tables with Simonis Cloth and 8 foot long fluorescent fixture lighting (NOT screw-in bulbs) with 5 + feet around each table. The temperature is always between 68 and 72 degrees and I just installed 6 ceiling fans to ensure even distribution and regulation of those conditions evenly throughout the pool room. I do have my own parking lot for visitors and I have already thought of the perfect arrangement for seating by closing off the back half of the room if so needed even. There is a motel next door that I have an agreement with on discounted pricing for my players when hosting 2-day events! I hope to be able to contribute all I can to the pool world. I am currently in negotiations with John Bertone of Kamui Tips to be an authorized install location with my complete cue repair shop on site. I am also looking forward to being a location to promote the new "9-Ball" movie with a cast signing with Jennifer Baretta, Jeanette Lee and the director Tony Palma. I've already bounced the idea off Jennifer and she is talking to Tony Palma about the idea.
Anyhow, I thank all those in advance who support the idea and all those who called me in reference to this topic. I appreciate all the support and vow to continue doing all I can (and can afford to do) to doing the right thing for the sport and all of us players out there!

Sincerely,
Sandman of Sandcastle Billiards

NJ tournaments

Sandman,

The Joss Northeast 9 ball tour is looking for a room to pickup 2 of the events Comet was hosting January 9th and 10th and May 1st and 2nd. Yesterday Mike had sent an email out to Joss players looking for help in finding a new host room. Here is his contact info.
