I always liked the round robin, pay per win and overall champion format they ran.

I know it's been awhile since they did one but if they brought it back what format would you wanna see? What game or games? Which players?

I'm sure it's extremely tough to schedule nowadays and maybe the interest for such a thing isn't strong enough anymore idk. And a myriad of other logistical issues to be sure but I for one would love to see it come back and would happily support it.

I still have quite a few of the dvd’s and I liked watching the matches. The thing I didn’t like was when players were too far behind in the win/loss they just played like it didn’t matter

I, too, enjoyed them. Here's a little info about the series:

12 events, the first in Aug. 2012 and the last in Nov. 2017 -- 4 in 8-Ball, 4 in 1-Pocket, 2 in 14.1, 1 in 10-Ball, and 1 All Around

Winners:
SVB 3 times -- 2 in 1-Pocket and 1 in 10-Ball
Shaw 3 times -- 2 in 8-Ball and 1 in 14.1
Reyes 2 times -- both 1-Pocket
Appleton 2 times -- 1 in 8-Ball and 1 in the All Around
Hohmann 1 time -- 14.1
Pagulayan 1 time -- 8-Ball

9 ball, MR format, winner break. Short races to 5 or 7. 4-8 top players in a round robin. Best record is the winner. Does not need to go to a "stage 2" bracket after the round robin.

Nice summation! I must have missed the All Around? How did that one work?

It was a 4-man quadruple round-robin. The players were Appleton, Orcollo, Van Boening, and Hohmann. They each played the other 3 players 4 times -- 8-Ball, 10-Ball, One-Pocket, and 14.1. So each player had 12 matches. Appleton won with an 8-4 record.
