There was guy post a couple weeks ago about which Artemis cushions he should put on a Acme home table. I ended up getting the call. The rail hieght was 1 7/8", I didn't measure the bevel but it was unusual, It would have accepted both cushion profiles. The playing field was 49.5" with the K66, so I went that route. Joe happened to play in a league that I played in at Danny K's, I remember playing him. Anyways here some picts.

That acme table in sd billiards photos is mine. Donny did a great job on the install and set up. he is first class and a pleasure to work with especially since I had some trouble getting any info on the table.

I had called around to some online billiard suppliers to find out what profile artemis to get (k66 or k55) and was told to measure the rail height or thickness of the rail... well my rails are almost 2" thick and that threw everybody off. I even called the company who aquired acme and even they could not tell me, as a matter of fact the guy hung up on me.

I even posted up here for some info and only got 4 replies and I think 2 of the 4 were from Donny so I called him up and he came down to my shop the next day to check out my rails, after he set up a slate on some sawhorses and put up the rails he did some measuring and determined that the k66 was the way to go.

We found out in the process that we had played on the same league a few seasons back. anyways we agreed that he would come to the house the following wednesday to start the install. as promised he was right on time and got right to it, leveling out the frame and bed of the table and then the slates. he really took his time to get them perfect. then he filled the seams and stretched the cloth.

He returned the next evening to install the rails and pockets. he racked up the balls and I took the first break.....as luck would have it I snapped the nine in the side on the very first break which seemed like the perfect result of a job well done.

I gotta tell you guys I have had some mechanics do some stuff in the past and they never took the time or care to make sure to get it "right". as a competitive player and not a banger i definitley know the difference between a good playing table or not.

If anyone needs a great mechanic to recover or install their table I highly recommend SD Billiards. Donny is first class in my book he really cares about what he is doing and is a true craftsman at his trade. his numbers are 714-379-8983 or 714-943-7137

BTW Donny the party on saturday night went great and the table was the star of the night, had some mid to upper "A" players over and they all said you did an outstanding job on the table thanks again donny for a job well done.......Joe...

thanks for the kind words Joe. It was a pleasure working for you. I will still send you picts when I get a chance.

I must add Donny does do nice work. He just did the tables at my local pub. I checked them out last night. I know they are only barboxes but they roll nice and true and play a lot nicer than before.
Thanks to Donny.
