Acme thread problem

I have a 1990 Josswest cue that has shafts with 5/16x14 Acme threads.
I have picked up an extra Stroud shaft -- with the same ringwork, but with a regular 5/16x14 insert.
What needs to be done so that I can use the shaft that I just picked up?
Sorry if the question sounds stupid or elementary. My cue building knowledge is limited.

You need an insert change to 5/16x14 acme
Are you able to change the insert?
