Anyone know the results? Hoping to hear some news. I thought the last ACS press release said it was April 29-30.:D

1 - Dustin Gunia
2 - Tony Wilson?
3 - Dwaine Bowman
4 - Chad Vilmont
5 - Jesse Bowman
6 - Lee Norton

Did they have a good turnout? Sounds like a star studded cast in the top 6. Anyone local do well?:D

Thanks for the reply.

I think there was around 40 players. Low turnout possibly due to the fact that it was not added to the ACS Tour schedule until very recently.

AZBilliards own "Mike in Iowa" finished 7/8th along with myself. Scott Kitto and Jamie Fenton finished in the 9-12th position and I am not sure who the other two 9-12th finishers were.

Not too much action, but there was some one pocket action. Two separate matches, 7 ahead for 500 and 200/game.

Anyone close to Des Moines or traveling close to Des Moines should definitely stop by Big Dog Billiards. There is a weekly 9 ball tournament on Sunday nights that draws 30-45 players regularly with a calcutta every week. Baraks, Vilmont, Bowman, Josh Johnson, Dustin Gunia, are just some of the out of town players that play quite often.

From what I have heard about this event, I can say only good things. They seem to always have a good showing and the players have a great time. I would encourage anyone reading this to participate in one if it'd in your area...

A good well run tourny.

Always fun, lots of talented players to get lessons from. The Big Dog tourny is a very well organized and TIMELY tournament. Too many good things to post here.

Glad to hear the turn out was decent for the ACS Tourny. Yes, I agree the publicity was late. Ddn't matter for me, I couldn't have made it; and I can't swim in that deep of water anyway. As the man says "I think we need a bigger boat"

Thanks for the info, Mike. Nice shooting.

I gotta quit hanging with my buds and get out more...I didn't even know of it or hear of it until now...I just can't stand the crappy service I get at BD's so I tend to avoid the place...damn! I tried my usual behaviors: big smile, tipping the help upfront, being nice as hell, etc. etc., but those don't seem to work. Not being a regular, I guess I don't matter to them. I usually spend a small fortune on league nights, but at BD's, I rarely send $10 to the house...on purpose! It is by far the worst bar service in town. Last week, the barkeep goes right by me and starts talking to some good-lookin babe and leaves me standing there alone with cash in my hands waiting, waiting, waiting...I put it back in my pocket and went dry (except for the free round, which I took and gave no tip). Hello????

There, that's off my chest....now, would I get a handicap on Sundays or is it scratch?

Chef,

I get the same reaction sometimes. Sometimes they are busy, but sometimes they aren't. The service is pretty inconsistent. Maybe you should show some more leg to get the barkeeps attention? ;) Wear a top with more plundge in the neckline?

Sunday is straight up nine ball. No spots. Pretty good players and then the out of towners come over. You know the drill. All in all, a great WELL RUN and TIMELY tournament with great competition for a good price.

Maybe you and I should go over in the corner and play 8 ball?

Hi Deadstroke,

I've got great legs for sure...I've had women tell me they wish they had my legs. So I tell them I'll let them use 'em for a while. :D

Thanks for the info. Now that league is about over (thank g_d!) I'll probably have more time to play tournies. Wife and weather willing, I'll make a few of those this summer. My game needs some stiff competition.

I'll play 8-ball with ya anytime.
