Sorry about the lack of reporting, folks. It's tough going, as I haven't had any sleep, and trying to juggle waiting around for my match.
With the WindyCity winding down, we expect more action coming in.
There's a lot of "smaller" action going on, Derby City wise. Some of the matchups included...
Hennessy from Tennessee vs. Darren Appleton in 8-ball (I think). I think the word from TonyC was that Darren didn't end up on the good side on this one. Missed a lot of shots and was feeling the gambling heat.
Scott Frost vs. Cardone 1-hole.
Bustamante vs. Deueul, 1-hole?
Matchups of the evening:
Dennis Orculla vs. Chris Bartrum, 10-ball. Chris was getting the wild 8, call 9, and was able to use a designated breaker... Jason Kirkwood. They were playing 10-ahead (or so). Orcollo took it down in a few hours.
And what the Derby is all about... high bets and gaffs. Tony Coleman had his son Eric arm wrestling against Hennessy. The banter was unbelievable, the rail was hot, and every window was wide open. They settled in arm wrestling on a corner of a pool table. I believe Strong Arm John served as the "referee." When the two were ready (the anticipation was excruciating), the two finally got it on. And within a few seconds, Eric pinned Hennessy. But ... the controversy was that Hennessy's arm hit the rail, which sit an inch and a half above the table bed. Eric's arm had no such obstacle, so Hennessy was trying to claim that the match was no good! You'd think that little issue would have been taken care of before saying, "Go!"
Our own Harveywallbanger was in action playing Scotch 9-ball with Shannon Murphy vs. Scooter and Jon Mora. Pretty entertaining, as Harvey (who plays very sportingly) was in some deep waters. He was holding his own.
I'll try my best to find out what the game was with the other action above, if I have the sleep.
