A friend and I used to make trips to Akron on the weekends and go Starcher's
to find some cheap action. I loved that room 10 years ago. 24/7....couches
too !

Is Starcher's still around ? Any other rooms within an hour or two from
Starcher's where we can find some cheap 9-Ball or 1-Pocket action?

Also thinking of going to PA. Any action rooms within a few hours of Erie,
PA ?

Thanks

Action

Dang if there is no action in Ohio/PA, why not just come to Reno instead? I will be glad to show ya around and the nice thing is, if ya dont pay for your trip with pool you always have the slots to try out.
Just kidding hope ya get an answer soon.

ZIGZAG,

To answer your first question, Starchers is under a new owner and it is called Action Billiards and is open 24/7 and their is some low dollar 9-ball and one hole action. Also, you can goto Northfield Billiards located on Northfield road in Northfield, Ohio about 15 minutes southeast of cleveland and about 30 north of Action Billiards (formerly Starchers). At Nortfield Kenny K. (one of the owners) will play some 9-ball from cheap to semi-expensive and a little one hole action as well. If you want to play some Straight Pool or One-hole you can also play Leil Gay (aka JR), but the game has to be worth his action. (you can goto www.northfieldbilliards.com to see pics of the room and its location). Ralph Carnes is also avaible for some straight pool and onehole action, but he mostly around in the fall. If you need any additional info, just let me know.

P.S.
Also you can go to Chris Szuter's pool room in Canton only about 15 minutes from Action billiards (formerly starchers) his room is called Fiddlestix, there is action with Chris and a few other people there.

Thanks alot. We will most likely head up to Northfield in the next few weeks.

I think I may have played Kenny before about 7 years ago. I think he was hanging around with Mike Viera (Is he still around??? he was a funny dude)

ZZ,

Kenny hangs around with Mike Vero once in a while from what I can see. I think Mike is still in Akron.

PS. Mike has a new rug on his head (just incase you didn't reconize him).

Action

You're putting ZZ in pretty fast company with Jr,Ralph and Chris. Tulio will play one pocket or 9 ball for fairly good money and he's pretty good action.Harry also isn't afraid to gamble. I don't know his last name but he always has a toothpick in his mouth.

Good luck and let me know how it goes.

DA,

Yes, Tulio will play some 9-ball and one hole cheap or semi expenise!. So will Dennis Jackson when he is around as well. The original list are people whom I know will be around most of the time to play and Tulio is on that list and plays out of a hall called Club 9 in Mentor. I listed Jr., Ralph and Chris...cause nobody travels 5-6 hours to play $10 9-ball! Also, Tom D' Alfonso (east coast) in on the road with Elmer (one of the owners at Northfield Billiards) and has gone to Toledo to play Steve McCianish (bad spelling) then through Texas for the texas open then probably thru FLA then back to Ohio. Plenty of action!

Harry ??? The black gentleman ? I have played him several times before in about 10 years ago. I think he only plays one hole if I remember. He was a good guy. I liked him.

Holy moly...Tulio....that guy is still alive and kicking? I remember seeing him about 12 years ago at the Akron Open when I was a spectator. If I remember correctly, he had a helluva hair-do.

See ya
