i have seen some other cuemakers repairing butt caps , from Viking to Mcdermotts but i dont see them adding logo , how would someone go bout this?

I believe you would have to send it to the original maker to avoid any issues. I don't think a respected cue builder would attempt to add a logo to a cue without expressed permission from the maker, otherwise I'm sure they would be open to legal action. No idea if anyone would pursue it, but I wouldn't even ask personally.

That is a very good answer. Logos are a real touchy line.

I am not so sure about this, correct me if I am wrong.

Over the decades, I have restored many first generation Camaros and Mustangs, when they are complete, I put the trim on the outside, yes that includes a LOGO. I have installed logos that are original and ones that had to be replaced with aftermarket products. Was I open to legal action? Not in this lifetime.

Same with Pool Cues, if you repair one and you can reuse the old logo, fine. When the old one can't be used, you can try the original maker to see if they will supply you a logo. It's good for the maker to supply one to keep his name out there.

As in Algebra, there are always variables, not looking to argue, just trying to help, again, correct me if I am wrong. It's not a scenario I will face, I don't do repairs.

Smile, it's Saturday.
