Adding Forward Weight

Hello. Have a Lucasi butt with a weight bolt in the butt and a Uni-Loc joint. Would like to add weight in front of the grip area. I realize removing the butt weight bolt entirely does this to some extent but it's not enough and then the whole cue is a bit too light.

I've seen a metal ring for sale that could go in the joint but I'm guessing it won't work with the Uni-Loc since it's not long enough.

Obviously could get a new, heavier shaft, but just got a new shaft I really like.

Are there any solutions for this besides a new cue with a different balance point?

A heavier shaft likely isn't going to be enough heavier to change the balance.

Someone could probably get you where you want by removing the pin and drilling into the forearm and adding weight there. It'll cost you.

Or add an extension in between the shaft and butt.

Thanks. An extension sounds possible. How many ounces would it take to make a noticeable difference?
 
I just added some weight to a Jacoby shaft to move the balance a bit on a new cue I got of theirs. The cue was 19.5 oz with a .7 oz weight bolt, 30" shaft and a balance point of 18".
I cut a 5/16 joint pin down to where it weighed .365 oz, and drilled and tapped a deeper hole in the radial threaded shaft for the piece of 5/16 joint pin. I then cut back the weight bolt a corresponding amount. Moved the balance point to apx 18 9/16".
Not sure you could do that with your joint style and a whole lot of work as I easily cleared the stock threads.
Anyway, this gives you an idea of how much extra weight in a shaft will affect the balance.
 
I really hate the idea of putting screws behind the joint screw but I did one after much debate with the Customer.
He uses a Predator shaft, the Butt was one of mine.
Didn't want a joint extension, no use in modifying a Predator shaft because if he gets a new shaft, the issue would come up again.
So I pulled the pin and added a 5/16x14 screw 3 inches down into the Butt. Then plugged the hole and installed a new uni loc joint screw.
With the understanding, if he wanted to remove it later,
IT WASN'T AN OPTION.
Once it's in and submerged in epoxy, THAT'S IT, THERE FOR LIFE!
It added 7/10's of an ounce.
He loves it. I still regret doing it!

THERE IS NO WAY, I WOULD DO THIS TO ANOTHER MAKERS CUE!!!
 
There was nothing about messing with this joint configuration I was happy with once I built it.

I had a customer that wanted more weight to the front of his cue and the cue had a plastic joint collar. So, I swapped it out for one I made of Stainless. The customer liked the look and it worked a charm. So depending on the style of pin that could be an option.
 
These are great ideas that seem extreme for my old Lucasi.

I actually figured out that the butt is cored out from the butt up to about 1/4 to 1/3 of the way up the wrap. I think a decent solution would be to drill it out further and put some metal up in there from the butt end. Alas, that probably won't happen either.

Also thought about replacing the ring on the shaft with something heavier (I presume stainless is heavier than whatever black resin/plastic is used for normal rings.
