Adjustable Glue fixture

With no support on the dove tail will it bow when it is tightened? seems to me it could use some support.

I am glad to see all you guys trying to one up each other on who has the cheapest glue fixture setup. I guess it was a mistake to share what another cue maker wanted made. I should be upset for having all of you high jack my thead like that, but I am not, after all everyone is entitled to his own opinion, nor will I spend hours trying to justify a point, that clearly non of you care to read or acknowledge

This item is not for sale, it was sold before it was built.
Thanks

Thanks for sharing Bassel. Absolutely nothing wrong with fresh ideas. That's how we get from A to Z.

Even though this thread has been high jacked a bit, it is nice to hear how everyone else is gluing. I started out using pipe clamps. Now I prefer leaving the cue chucked in my headstock after turning my tennon. After installing the rings & waiting an hour, I install my pin to ensure concentricity between the rings and the pin. I’m VERY allergic to epoxy so the less fumbling around the better. When doing shaft rings I tape over my center drill Ø to keep the epoxy out so I can final turn the shaft again. Your fixture would work for that.

As far as the bowing concern, how about a double fixture with the dovetails mounted back to back and the clamps on their sides. The clamps would have to be offset from each other at the ends but that’s the advantage of a dovetail.

I sense that you are upset even though you claim not to be.
If you want to be upset, that's your privilege. After you get over that,
you may see the silver-lining.
First let me state that this is a public discussion forum. People will discuss
what is presented. Evaluations will be made, particularly on a product that is being offered.
You came here to SELL this product as evidenced by your pricing, not just to share an
idea. That's fine, sales are allowed. But please bare in mind that first and foremost,
this is a discussion forum and one sided discussions don't work.

During the discussion that followed your initial post, a lot of good ideas were offered.
You had the benefit of learning what others are using and how those methods/ideas
differed from yours. That's not really a bad thing. In itself, it has the potential of
saving you a lot of time & money as well as giving you some new avenues to pursue for
future products.
Trust me, if I weren't at least a year behind on my builds and way behind on my repair work,
I'd be popping out gluing 'nuts & bolts' like there was no tomorrow.
But alas, my priorities belong to the people whose work I have already committed to.
You are welcome to the idea and to make a run at it. It's obviously not patented and
some of us already use it. However, please be advised that any new product offered is subject to scrutiny.
That's just how it works.

Respectfully, KJ

Believe me I am not upset, I would have been upset if I really was trying to sell a bunch of those fixtures and have every one put in their idea of a glue, fixture, and yes I do agree that it is educational and beneficial, I for one am way behind on orders and would rather not build another glue fixture for a long time, but if some one called me day after day asking me to build him 6 or 8 glue fixtures is the reason why I built it. And I posted a price nearly as an estimate of parts cost (2steady rests $100 and 3" of dovetail $45 , plus $20 for hand wheel and drive screw with free labor) so no I am not intending to sell more of those fixtures, I would rather spend my time on launching my new Tool Box lll and coming soon, my all new redesigned Heavy Duty Cue Building Lathes, in addition to other projects and cue machinery that I am still designing and testing.
not upset I promise.
Like you said this is a discussion forum.

Best Regards
