Adjustable pockets

Use 6 irons and 6 rails slotted with #3 style( custom designed) irons, by this I mean the only thing in design change would be an elongated hole in the rail top to bottom for the iron to travel on top of and through.. There will be slotted rail bolt holes to accommodate rail travel in the slate. Std amount of room on a GC is about 1 inch all around. Using this type of pattern overhang you just order the slate holes elongated and you can have rails travel in all directions. The #3 pockets are slotted on top to allow for this travel but still function and the gaps are covered up by the plate of the iron.

So now the only thing you change is table size. This doesn?t matter and if you want to be pure you just move them so it?s still 1 x 2. I think many tables are close in size aren?t they. and no one cares. Whether it?s a 9 or 7 ft table.

So there would probably really be only a negligible build cost if you think about it. Slate pattern radiuses at the pocket openings would be altered to address the travel on the rails, make some nice deep shelfs.

Another way to do this would be to have a floating nut design that travels inside the rail like on GC's but made better perhapswith a metal sleeve.
