adjusting to a new cue?

Thanks all for the great advice here, I appreciate each and every one of you taking the time to weigh in.

I am definitely into this cue for the long game, so I am unconcerned about swapping back to my old cue. I also have the same tip I am currently using on the new CF shaft so I am hoping that will add some familiarity.

Otherwise, I guess I will go about my usual routine which is a mix of matches and drills and just see how it plays out.

no bigge, don't sweat it

Honestly, I don't think the differences between cues is THAT different, as I can play with any of my cues at the same level. Of course it will be a slight adjustment if you were used to one cue for a long time, but if you have solid fundamentals it shouldn't take too long to adjust.

I just played for 3-4 hours on my home table and was absolutely crushing it! And I switch to a new cue every couple of games because I have a collection that I enjoy using. The diversity is so much fun and has helped me learn to adapt even faster between cues.Granted, my table is only an 8-footer :frown: but plays very well and is dead level. Now I just need the pockets tightened up.

it may just be me,i have had people giveme a lot of advice
but i just pick up a new cue and start shooting

it all seems so easy anyway
once JC on here,a great new talent gave me a cue with a long extension, total about 68 inches 25 oz
it felt really different for about 5 minutes and i got involved with a one pocket game ad was perfectly adjusted in a few minutes

i played my best pool with that cue,and he has since developed into an outstanding talent

The heavier cue is probably more stable than the 19oz variety. The Mosconi book - remember that? said anything more than 20 oz would paralyze your arm. Not applicable to 1 hole with all the gentle hits - and one per turn no less.

You can rotate playing with all my cues with ivory joints.
The only transition you might have is using the 1st cue.

Afterward using any of my other cues will be seamless.
That is your reward when all of the cues are the same.

The cue-makers are different but the cue specs and tips
are uniform so switching cues is easy and very enjoyable.

Rest assured if I bought another cue or ordered one, the next
cue would be identical. It’s only sensible to stick with what you like.
