Advice for getting into focus?

I was just wondering if there is any advice for getting into focus at will. I play 9-ball pretty regularly, and always try my hardest to be at the top of my game. The first few racks are always tough, but then something clicks and I'm completely focused. Basically what I'm asking is, how do I put myself in focus, instead of just ending up there? Thanks in advance for any help. Look forward to seeing you play again.

Focus

I basically like to go to bathroom and look myself in the eyes and talk to myself. I've came up with a few self motovating sayings with are: FACE FEAR ( F- Feel A- Anger or Anxiety C- Control E- Emotions ) (F-Focus E-Efforts or Energy A-At R-Results) and then the next one SPACES ( S- See P- Patterns A- Apply C- Confidence E- Execute S- Shot ). Hope that maybe these little sayings may help and also I suggest reading a book called The Mental Edge that helped me some. Then the next thing I suggest is to truly learning most of the the how's and why's of what is happening on the table with systems if you play by feel!! Natural ability will only take you so far and by having a systematic approach to the game then that will also help build more confidence when your on the table.

I don't think it's about getting into focus.... FWIK, it's remaining focused all the time, so this way u will need to draw the powers within.
What can help is playing 14.1.... And when off the table, but still in pool hall, play some chess.
Some billiard halls downhere have chess tables so u can remained focus while away from the table of extended periods of time.
No access? Buy an electronic one, or get a NintendoDS and buy brain-age, or take their local paper and do their Sudoku. But i highly recommend chess since it requires strategy.

My 2 cents.
