The one that is pictured on page 320 looks a little "out of place", but you don't see the entire butt, only from the joint midway down the wrap. It's a Titlist-looking butt with a black wrap. It the white collar behind the steel joint looks a little odd because it's the only white piece on the cue (that you can see in this picture).
The one that is pictured on page 331 looks pretty nice. It has a white buttcap, a green with white speck wrap, a pearl-looking inlay in the points, along with the white ring behind the steel joint. It is pictured with what looks to be a whiteish joint protector. All the white and lighter-colored features tie the entire cue together nicely. Overall, a very nice looking cue.
Both cues have matching white rings on the shafts.
I would say if you can include some other white and light-colored features on the cue, the white ring behind the steel joint would probably look very nice. It seems to give it an "oldschool" look, reminding me of an ivory joint. Then again, I prefer more of an "oldschool" style.
