After Seeing Earl vs. Nick VDBerg.

Earl is just a sore loser, always has been. It's just that he loses more these days, so we see the bad Earl more often.

Earl welcome to Rotterdam

We ( the dutch fans) are very happy to welcome Earl to Rotterdam (the Mosconicup) this year. Especially the fact that he is going to play Nick one of those matches will be a lot of fun. Shirts are being made, finger extensions are being polished, sunglasses are being prepared, maybe we'll even wear ski-gloves. Ok. I admit he is an autistic narcist.. but who can blame somebody for being ill. Let's face it: Without Earl it could get a little quiet.... and dull. I rather hope that the mouth would try to keep his mouth shut at times that his opponent is at the table.

Technically they are, but not because of that :D

You gave me the belly laugh of the day!!! ... lol Earl is definately an unique animal. Kind of like the long term studies that McKinsey used to do ... lol
Earl will always be popular because people will be forever trying to figure him out. They say there is a thin line between sanity and insanity. Which side of the line do you think Earl was on when he won all the Championships? ... lol

Or Was I ?

Is that the line those policemen were tring to get me to walk ? You know, heel-toe, heel-toe, heel-toe, etc. ?
I failed, but I'm pretty sure that I wasn't charged with insanity...

( they didn't think I was funny either )

... after nick took his break, after being shook up, i yelled out, let's go nick! strickland started calling me a traitor rooting for a european, they cut the whole thing out, but believe you me i screamed, "let's go nick!" that's when strickland said "what the hell was that" that's all they left on the tape.
So you're the fan that sharked Earl! Based upon Earl's reaction, that scream really got to him. :)

earl doesn't understand

I finally saw this match on Versus tonight, and Earl says he doesn't understand why the fans seem to hate him......he can't figure it out.....says it didn't use to be that way....they used to cheer him.... he says when he goes to the Phillippines, they boo him......imagine that...

There are thousands of "Earls" of various nationalities playing pool throughout the world and some are found at every level of the game.To my own certain personal knowledge and experience such players have existed for many many years. No doubt we will continue to breed more of them.

They are full of smart good natured quips and free flowing play when things are going their way and gradually morph into complete @ssholes when they aren't,like somebody's turned a switch. It has nothing whatsoever to do with an excess of passion and everything to do with upbringing, selfishness and a fundamental genetic character flaw. They are lost causes in that respect and will never change.

Their counterparts exist in many other sports at every level, even professional golf which in particular has surprised me a little to find out.

Every time one of them wins something it feels like the sport concerned has itself been cheated and let down.
