I haven't participated or read to many of the aiming threads and every once in a while curiousity takes over and I start reading. Its the same old discussion again and again.
I can't help but wonder why this is so heavily argued here.
As your learning it is important to have understanding of how the balls interact and how the cue ball will roll after contact with another ball. But As far as aiming is concerned until you have developed consistancy in how you address and strike the ball it doesn't really matter if your aiming system is mathematically correct or not.
If you can't make a long straight in shot consistantly I doubt it matters if you use cte, ghost ball, or otherwise on your cut shots. Inconsistant fundamentals will not allow you to pocket balls a high percantage No matter what system you use.
The funniest thing to me is that if you are playing shape using side english most of the aiming systems that are so controversial here don't even apply.
The only thing that will make that shot go in with a bunch of english with the cue ball ending up where you expect is allot of practice and hours on the table.
It also helps to play with players much better than you willing to share their knowledge.
