I read the article from yahoo, I believe and there was also a link to a video of the kid doing all these activities with his blade. It was pretty interesting. Some specialist of sorts was saying that he uses all his senses in a way to almost anticipate the exact timing.
The article was about people with uncanny abilities, one man was impervious to cold, another could look at a land scape for a few moments and draw it to perfect detail and I mean perfect. Sure it could all be faked but I like the idea of people with extraordinary abilities.
Try to google this article, it's pretty interesting. I'll try to find a link for you and you can tell me if you think it's all bullocks.
The reason I doubt it is that I Googled "katana split bullet" and only got hits about katanas that were fixed in place and bullets shot at them (and there was even some doubt expressed about the legitimacy of those).

If you can find a link to a video or article about the kid I'd be interested. Thanks.

Your 100% correct...........

In pool/snooker the object ball is your "Golf" ball. The golf analogy is useless. I have never found anyone who has reached any advanced level or better in pool who looks at cue ball last (not counting break, jumps and other specialty shots). I'm sure it's possible but I haven't met any.

Nick

In pool we have 2 different types of vision to deal with.

The preshot look and the closer down on the shot look.

Golf you have just one look. Your stance looking at the golf ball.

Like pool though, your dominant eye does play a huge role in how you envision the shot. The dominant eye needs to be in the correct position to complete the task at hand.

I always wondered why I leaned to the right so far when doing short chips with the 9 iron? And why I putt better with the ball in front on my left foot more? If I don't lean back it just does't work very well. Kind of like steering the car while sitting in the passenger seat with your left hand.
It just seems awkward. And if it doesn't look real good it's hard to feel confident.

But just like pool, if it doesn't look right it probably won't work out very well.

If you look at the CB last it's like closing your eyes.

If any player in the world promises to look at the cue ball last all the time, I'm going broke. I'll play them and go broke if they can win.

I guarantee they got the worst of it for sure.
