What is in Lost Wages that make you want to go there? I do not fly, as I am afraid of Heights. I don't even like being 5' 9-1/2" :D

1) Check the liability of the carrier. Some have low per-piece maximum liability limits -> e.g., ATA has ~$2500 per luggage piece for domestic travel, meaning that if you travel with $5,000 worth of pool sticks in one case, and they lose it, you get 1/2 back. Be sure you know the limits (and that you are covered). Some of the major carriers allow you to declare a higher maximum on baggage at checking -> this helps if you travel with expensive cues.

The last time I went to Vegas I bought a suit case big enough to hold my cue case. Then I checked with AmericaWest and found out I could insure said suitcase for $5000 which I did. I paid for it, but I did it. Then I found out upon return from Vegas that AmericaWest personnel should have walked my suitcase out to the plane (because of the extra insurance I bought) instead of putting it on the conveyor belt. Also, they should have picked it off the plane and brought it to me personally. Both times I picked it up off the conveyor belt at baggage claim.

Sorry, I cannot travel with my Szamboti anymore, it causes just too much stress and anxiety. My husband and I have close friends living in Vegas, and if I'm ever out there again, I will ship it overnight to them to hold until we get there.

Find out what your airline carrier has to offer in protection and take the names of whomever you are talking with.
