Al Bautista Cues...Sounds Pinoy doesn't it? LOL... When I first joined AZ, one of Al's butterfly cues caught my eyes immediately with its lucious amboyna Burl and Ebony...I knew I had to have one. No, I didn't hit with it first...but I did check around and asked questions and talked to a few peeps about 'em...and decided to take a leap of faith and order a customized butterfly to my list of cues to own...

This cue is still in the works... As fate(or luck) would have it...I've won two of his cues in the raffle section before my Celtic cue is even finished!!!
So yes, I've been able to hit with a few Bautistas(Al) and want to share my thoughts.

I've put in a good 20 or so hours with the snakewood cue, and another 30-40 with the amboyna... Both bring confidence to the table!! The hit feels the same regardless of the materials in both cues...solid, solid, solid... Got an object ball in the middle of the table with the cue ball on the far rail? A nice stroke with a little top...and ride that baby down the green and into the hole!! There is very, very little deflection in either one of the cues' shafts...and the feel is electric. The feedback from the cue is excellent, and makes positioning the cue ball easy, for me anyway...it just feels natural...and it's all about the "feel" of the stick to me...
Got a long thin cut? No problem...aim properly, stroke, and pocket the ball...it just feels great in the hand... I can't compliment its characteristics enough... These are player's cues fo sho :grin-square:

Granted...no cue is going to turn you into a professional Pinoy , but Al's cues will make you feel confident...that I guarantee you....excellent playability...If you're looking for a great custom that won't break the bank, or want something more exotic...Al definitely knows his stuff,...that's what 20yrs of cue building will get you... Thanks Al, I'm proud to have your gear!!!

Here's a little eye-candy for you...

Thanks Cowboy ... Al really surprised me with the rings. They came out really nice, above my expectations...and with the small crosses will compliment this design nicely, not taking away the main focus...the wood...that's what really got me going in the first place(jeez that doesn't sound right...now does it? LOL)...
Anyways...I'm stoked about it, and can't wait for Santa or the New Year when this baby lands here in hill country.

Great looking cues. Do you have pics of that gator, or croc case? That looks stunning also. I always wondered how Al's cues would hit. I may have to find some money sccrounged up for one!

Nice work! Great looking wood.

Thanks Mario!
They play as good as they look!

I cant wait to see the finished product

I hear you!! Appreciate your comments buddy... I haven't been this excited in a while...and I'm really looking forward to trying a 60" cue. Being 6ft+ and lanky...I'm thinking the extra length will feel more natural to me...we'll see :grin-square:
