All the normal 8 Ball rules apply, but your last ball before the 8 Ball must be played in the side pocket. You must call your pocket before the break and that is your pocket for the entire match.

Some guys play the 5 and 15 must go in the side pockets before you can win.

Rednecks in Alabama get bored with the same old games because they are too easy. This is why we have to make up new games like Alabama 8 ball. I bet hang-the-9 would like to play some with a good ole boy......as long as the good ole boy gets a lot of weight......cause down here we are kinda slow and all.

yeah, use to play the 1 and the 15 must go in side at any time though... Coal miners 8ball it was called, or at least that's what the guys who taught me called it.
