Alex runs 100 and out.

Alex Pagulayan isn't exactly known to be a 14.1 player. Alex played a tough match on Tues, playing veteran local 14.1 beast Dave Daya and lost 100-68. The match wasn't even that close and Alex looked a bit out of sorts and resorted to cracking jokes, Alex style.

In his next match, playing John Schmidt, Alex musta dug deep and found out that 14.1 aint that hard and....runs 100 and out on Schmitty :p

Not surprising. Alex has beaten Schmidt in both of their 300 point matches in the past.

For the 2 matches I have seen Alex play this week, he has played extremely well. Some of the best straight pool I have seen this week. He and Cohen look pretty tough to beat.

Alex is also a century break standard snooker player. The games are very similar so it's not much of a stretch to make the transition. You still need to learn a lot about cluster management, break balls and pattern play though.

How are the games similar other then the obvious=
You use a cue to strike a cue ball.
Cue ball is used to strike a object ball.
Object ball is pocketed in 1 of 6 pockets.
..........

In both games you have to get an angle to break up the pack and clusters. Playing patterns, getting rid of problem balls early.

Break building and pattern play have similar concepts. Same with cluster management. I could go into more detail but.......
