Align-Rite CNC

"Pool Cue Making Machine"? Man would I like to have one of those! All I've got is a handful of CNC mills & lathes and they won't make the cues at all. The best I've ever gotten out of them is to cut pockets and parts and turn round stock and tapers. I'm stuck making the other 95% of the cue myself, damn it.

Not my listing, i just came across it. Im guessing its not free, but the price is probably sky high. I think Dale Perry is the only one with a "Pool Cue Making Machine." He sure does turn them out. Not bashing him, just not sure its only him and his apprentice doing all the work. :-)

I actually looked into buying that guys entire shop a few years ago and he had that same picture on his website. He was a cuemaker in Houston named Tom Skruggs. Yes, Tom Skruggs....I know, sounds like a joke, but I'm serious. His website went inactive years ago, so I'm curious if the person who posted on Craigslist is the same person or if this prison purchased from Tom and is using his picture. Tom had a good amount of equipment when I originally talked to him.

The price was 6500 the last few times he listed it over the years. It was listed at 4500 prior to that.

Not that i know every cuemaker in houston, but ive never heard of him. wonder where his market area is.

I agree with Joe. I have one and for that price if I was closer it would definitely have a new home!

Well, I'm a long way away but that would not stop me. I've received no responses to my emails. If I had, I'd be on the road right now. It doesn't seen like it's on the level to me. If he really wants to sell it, I would be long gone. I see other things in the photo I would also purchase.

Either price would be a steal for that machine.

I agree for the 4500 its a great deal.

I think hes on the up and up, but I will mention hes a one word response sort of guy. He usually emailed me late evening. I am sure he will contact you. It took a few days sometimes.

I grew up in the Northeast so terrible weather is really not much of a deterrent to me. I once drove 200 miles through a blizzard to compete in an ice race...it was called off due to snow. It would be a hassle but not a deal breaker. I've got a really good 4wd truck equipped for bad weather/bad roads and I'm no stranger to long trips like that. It would still be a good deal if everything checks out.
Naturally if it's sketchy I'll pass. I don't see why someone closer has not jumped on it.

I don't think I bought any wood but I gratefully accept donations. :)

:) No, the wood message was intended for Mr. Dunkel.

As far as sketchy, I do not think he is at all. I think he is on the up and up. As far as why it has not sold.....
