that I had to forfeit either my Seniors or Super Seniors match to get to the final eight in both.
Had a great time at the SBE specially because I was playing so well this year. Seniors started Friday at 11am and a second round at 1pm. Saturday I played at 9am and Super Seniors started at 11am. Seniors at 1pm and 5pm. SuperS at 3pm and 7pm. Won eight straight combined matches in both formats. Then it hits the fan. Both Seniors and SuperS last round of the night to get into the final eight are scheduled at 9pm. You guessed it. I had to forfeit one. Not beefing because I lost next match. Just played bad. But why not keep the four-hour pattern in the SuperS going and play at 11pm.
I know there has always been a rule, but doesn't it make better sense to accommodate the very few players that could run into this scenario? After all it's not like I have 40 more attempts at this...lol. Kind of makes you not want to play in more than one event and isn't participation the lifeblood of most tournaments these days?
I was fortunate enough to catch Allen's ear early Sunday morning and he was attentive to my logic. He didn't just blow me off. Maybe some good for next year will come of my conversation with him. We'll see.
