Just letting everyone know that our galleries of pool photographs, most from the old days, are now open. The printing option is turned on if you want prints. Some of the image files are too small for good prints, but if you let me know, I'll upload a larger file for you, no charge. Thanks to all who have helped identify people in these shots. We still have some "Unknowns," so browse the galleries and help us name the people in the photos. Here's the link to the galleries: http://billporter.smugmug.com/

I don't know the answer to this one. Maybe someone will eventually identify her. And explain what the heck she is doing with Willie Elder. :)
 
I am looking now. On page 6 pic #87, isn't that black guy Willie Munson?

I'll put in the caption that a guest identified him as Willie Munson. I think you may be right.
 
Bill, are all of these photos that are available for download, High-Resolution photos?


I was just thinking about some of the pool halls I have been in and remember one which had pictures of all of the old masters on the wall in black & White.

Having these photos printed in high res and mounted, even in inexpensive picture frames would really decorate a pool hall. Shoot, you could get autographs of those still living when they pass through the pool hall and you get to select which photo you want. I love the photo of Buddy Hall with the fro and red looking hair.

If you leave off the autographs your customers would spend time trying to guess who each player is.

And for any newbies checking out these photos, there are NUMEROUS gallery pages within each main event/pictures, not just the 10 or 12 pictures you see on the first page. Select the additional pages and you will see a treasure trove of pictures.

Most of the photos are NOT high resolution as it would take much more time to upload them and they wouldn't really look that much better when viewed on the website. That's why I offered to upload a larger image file (from 500k to 1000k) for a particular image if someone wants to get a print of that image. Of course, I won't be able to accomodate more than a few such requests at a time.
