what match ups would you like to see?
How bout making the subject/title line: What matchups would you like to see? Then in your post, mention Allison/Archer......Make sense? Probably not, since most your posts are junk.
Anyways, I would like to see the US Open winner vs the Ladies Nationals Winner every year. That way it would add some spice/fuel to the fire/debates that currently run.
Actually, I think that it would be cool to see ___________ (insert favorite local shortstop here) VS Efren Reyes. That way it would bring the reality check of strength of shooters in your area. IMO

Archer vs Pagulyan have had some good matches.
Last year at the Molson Cup Johnny and Alex drew each other in the quarter finals, Johnny came out firing as he had been doing all year and before he knew it Alex was down 8-3 with Johnny on the hill, Johnny broke and had an easy runout for the win when he missed a straight in shot on the 8ball
Amazingly the 8ball ended up glued to the back of the 9 leaving Alex completely snookered, he calmly strides up to the table and shoots an awesome kick shot making the 8-9 combo into the side, the crowd went absolutely nuts cheering Alex on. Alex battled the score up to hill-hill before giving Johnny a wide open chance and he didn't make a mistake running out for the win, but what a match I'll never forget it.

I too am an Alison fan, and admirer, though I think that I am not at all what she would be looking for. Nevertheless, to answer many of the questions in this post, I believe that Alison gambled with Cliff Joyner a few years ago getting the 6 out and didn't like it too much. Needless to say that she would need a bit more from Archer.
I don't want to turn this into a man vs woman debate as seen here before, however when speaking of a player like Archer, remember that with his big break he will control the session much more than Alison would. He will string more racks and have more opportunities than Alison would. The 7 out and the breaks, or the 7 out and alternating breaks may be more what Alison or any other top woman would need to compete against Archer or any of the other top male players.
One last thing, assuming she can gamble as good as she plays in tournaments, if Cliff was giving her the 6 out and the break, I think that she would have robbed him. Naturally, I don't think Cliff would do that.
As far as matchups go, I would like to see a top notch gambler such as Archer, Bustamante(or any Filipino for that matter), Daulton, Varner(I hope he is recovering ok), etc, or even a first rate road player duke it out with Mika for big cheese. I have a feeling that when the session is over, all Mika will have left is his World Championship Trophy.
