Am I choking or just missing?

krupa, I have a friend who used to hate the six ball (you know green ball on green cloth) and she called it "the devil ball". One day she decided to put that nemesis behind her. She got on the table alone and shot the six ball from all over the table and from every angle, banks, long straight in shots until she got over her "fear" of the six ball. It worked for her. You might try this with the eight ball. And remember the eight ball is just as round as the other balls...lol

I played last night and shot really well (relatively speaking.) Out of six games, I only lost one. 4 of those wins were against a guy I have never beaten. (I can't say that without mentioning that he really wasn't playing up to his normal level, but at least I capitalized on his mistakes.) I made some long 8-ball shots (we play on 9' tables) and some pretty straightforward ones as well.

I think one of the biggest differences is that I was very relaxed, not worried about the outcome or looking good or making a good impression. I played my game and it worked out. Hopefully I can get into that mindset next week.
