Am I the only person who hates Brown phenolic linen material for joints and butt caps

I like the material used as a joint on Sneaky Pete style cues. Other than that I am not a huge fan.

I hate this material and wonder why it is used in the making of joint rings and even worse butt caps. I know that it is durable but it sure looks nasty being able to see the mesh like look in the material.

Anyone else have an opinion on this material?

no I hate it too, reminds me of circuit boards. Never have liked it, I'm not sure how many 1000's of cues I have seen, I can count on one hand the cues that I have liked it on, less than 5 for sure. I think I saw a Sugartree once I liked with it and a SW.


there is no doubt its great for building quality cues with and lasts forever, I just cant get past the ugly brown color.
