I would love to know the story behind how you became such a legend...

What...other than the obvious...(practice, hit lots of balls) did you do to get so good...Who did you learn from??? (other than the road)

What is the most important thing to getting to "World Beater" status....(other than natural talent)
only a legend in my own mind:)
mabey you should start a post how do you get to world beater status
and the other things you said . i will give my 2 cents there. if you guys start more interesting posts in main forum like this question the forum will be more read and people may come read more cause its exciting. you all are pool players
and most pool players are pretty creative use that and we might get things going in pool. never know at least it will be exciting to us and we may learn something in the process:)

From what I remember it was 8 a head for 8k and the flip was for $2000 and it wasn't Jose. I don't know who the guy was but I remember you saying after you won the flip " I'm only playing for $6000 now"

thats my question. what do you all think :)

I'm convinced. Having talked to you on a few occasions I can tell by your writing that you're legit. Just like we can all tell that Grady is Grady - who else would write like that?

BTW, an old friend of yours with the initials BB from Athens, Georgia said to say hi. You two used to play a lot when he lived in Vegas.

wow looks like im screwed either way. i take it i dont know you? well this was a post that i did cause some people didnt think it was me so i know that those that did know me would know based on what i say in responding to questions. i like to have a little fun sometimes to i do have a sence of humor.

but this is the kind of attitude is one of the reasons i quit gambling pool. i dont even know the guy and he comes at me like this wow. well good day fellas

why is that ? just curious
if i do its because the questions they are asking me are questions about my pool career. how would you suggest i say something or answer them with out bragging so to speak cause if i tell a story and i win is that egotistical . so if you think im bragging or have ego problem the kindly ask our members not to ask me questions and i promise if they dont ask i wont tell. but if they do i will but will also promise to tell stories when i lost ok . :)
my ego went out before i quit the game but i like to talk about the good old days.

Whoever it is they sure have an ego.
plus those that knew me knew i wasnt an ego maniac but when i used to gamble
i could wolf with the best of them . that was the part of gamblin i always hated. cause it seems to bring out the worst in a person at times specialy if he had a lot of heart. me and keith went at it for years and played 4 or 5 times. hes a funny guy and i guess he still is. plus i am not even close to the player i was. so for to have an ego now ond not able to back it up would be dumb. but im capable of being dumb so if i came accross as thinking im better than anyone here in anyway i apologize. im just a human being that played a game good at one time and their are and were players that played better. cheers
and there are people on this forum that may have more talent and ability that i had and i hope they succeed mark . by the way guys i am the has been mark tadd:):):)

Hey Mark, I don't think Kyle's reply was aimed at you about the ego problem. I could be mistaken though, but I think it was at Billy for laying into you like that. Anyway, I'll put my 2 cents in about this thread. Don't worry about the questions people ask of you, they just want to know. If they ask something that may seem too personal, it's your choice to answer. What most want on here is what you have to offer, stories about the past. You've played champions, played for big money, won some good tournaments, that's what they want to hear about. Me included. I've been asked some questions before that I chose to answer in a pm because I felt it didn't belong in the forum. My choice. When I first came to this forum there was a post about Rodney Morris and why he went to prison. Well, rather than let people just speculate why he was there, I jumped in and set the record straight because I know the truth. It was also public knowledge but some still didn't know. So, from that one reply, came questions about me that I answered to a select few. I don't speak about things that I don't know about and I don't mention names. I'll tell you the same I tell everyone, if I ever offend you in any way, pm me and let me know. Because I can guarantee you that it's not intentional. I don't like to get involved in the flame wars either, waste of time. So, keep posting, share your experiences with us, and ignore the one's you choose. Peace, John.

You and Johnny Archer played 8 ahead for $8,000. It was over in 45 minutes:mad: ...but hey, that's the way it goes sometimes.

well at the time i had an ego ofcourse johnny just won 2 tourneys in a row . i had not been playing but would still play . so i said ok johnny we will play 8 ahead but we both break from the middle of the table. he and t. ellin later a good friend of mine nice guy sad to hear what happened....... the bet was only 3000 though . at the time all i played was poker and had about 100,000 cash
:) those were the good old days:( and its was hight way robbery. but we had fun i guess well he did lol. later that same tourny this was 91 or 92 i beleive sigal won and beat c.j. who before that day we flipped a coin for two thousand an i won then he wanted to fight man o man pool players so rowdy. i played him 2 times and thats one of the reasons we flipped thats another post who won:)

My last post was out of line and I received a private message telling me so. I don't like to be mislead and that's how I felt with this question (Mark?) asked. My profanity was uncalled for and it won't happen again. If you are Mark Tadd, which it seems that many believe that you are, then I must ask why would you ask the question you asked? Do you want the doubt? Have you been doubted about this before? Whatever your reason is, then it's your business. Again, I apologize for the post I made, it was not right of me to do that. Take care and I hope we can put this behind us.
sorry for my misleading. apology accepted

To this day that match is one of my favorite pool stories it was over real quick but you didn't play bad either. I forgot until now about you guys breaking from the center. The most ridiculous thing was that he gave you the last two. I remember thinking what does the last two matter with guys who play this good? I also remember right after that Incardona tried to play you some 1 pocket for $500 a game, and you beat him 8 in a row before he quit.

I think as good as you played you woofed even better. Champions wanted no part of you and you knew it. I loved watching those touring pros steering clear of Mark Tadd, I think you got more respect than anyone beside maybe Efren, and Johnny Archer back then.

If you can accept that I'm the real Smorgass Bored and not simply pretending to be the Smorgass Bored, then I can believe that you're mark tadd (or even Mark Tadd)...
