Am tourney during dcc?

I know there alot of things going on during the DCC, but I heard something about an amateur event also? I have a friend wanting to enter if there is. Anyone have info?

While waiting for a response, I went ahead and signed up there,
prior to signing up, I couldnt find anything on it.
Im pretty sure the mini-tournament was what I was looking for.

another quick question someone here may be able to answer.
do you have to pre register or can you enter AT the event?
 
I believe that if you pre-register you are guarateed a spot in the tourney, if you sign up when you get there and the venue is filled you may be locked out, although, I've never heard of this happening, whatever you do, I think that you will be ok, enjoy the tournament.
