This young lady from Spain won both Ladies divisions and even more impressive....finished 5th in the open 8 ball out of 59 (i think) and finished 9th out of 79 in the open 9 ball, beating many men (including me) in the process. The tournaments were played on very poor equipment,,,old Valleys with the big cue ball. Nothing seemed to bother her as she cruised through the womens events...winning both from the losers side.

After watching Jasmin beat Allison in Vegas....this girl (don't know her age, but seems about 19-21), reninded me of Jasmin in her stroke and demeanor.

She could be the next star to come over and try out the WPBA.

Does anyone have anymore info on her??

I had a few of the Jacksonville players in the monthly nineball tournament at Planet 9-Ball yesterday and they too were complaining about the conditions in Jacksonville. Their complaints included the 3 1/2' X 7' bartables having old slow cloth, bad rails, untrue rolls, a big mudball cueball, the loser having to pay a dollar a game in quarters (not sharing the costs), trying to withdraw two days in advance and not getting a refund and the fact that there were not racks for each table, among a few other complaints I've forgotten. Two different players that didn't know each other stated that they would never attend another event hosted by whomever was running the Amateur event, the UPA or Charlie Williams. These were two knowledgeable (about pool) players doing the grousing. One of them even won yesterday's tournament over a field that included Richie Richeson, Trevor Braymore, Wade Crane, Brian Davalos, James Roberts and a slew of others.
In all fairness, I'd like to hear the other side of the story. Would anyone like to address these complaints ? Could the conditions have been so bad that players would swear off ever playing in another event by these groups ? There were three players that had played in Jacksonville doing this complaining.

Yes, I can agree with what was said about this amateur event.. I'll add what i think right below this..

Amateur events in Jacksonville

I just returned from the amateur event in Jacksonville and I have to say it was one of the worst events I have ever attended. There was a problem with getting the money posted and when it finally was posted was about $950 short of the total entries. I questioned this several times and each time received a different excuse. One of them was they took the money out of the men's tournament to add to the women's tournament. WOW! I surely have never heard of that before. I ended up with an answer of a simple miscalculation but then only $600 of the $950 was put back. There was also a similar problem with the 8 ball event. Moving on to simply the worst tables I have ever seen which I should mention cost $1.00 per game. There was a total of eleven bar tables with each having dead rails which played extremely slow. A few of the tables actually had spring rails and if a ball was hit into them with medium speed would pop up about two inches off the table. In addition to these bad tables was also a very heavy and oversized cue ball. Any players who attended this thing called a tournament will surely agree with my, Well let's call it an opinion. After all of this I did manage to place in both the 8 and 9 ball events but don't think I'll be rushing back to play again. I just felt this information would be appreciated for people who plan to attend the future events.

I think this should be something everyone should know.. I started another thread "Amateur events in Jacksonville" and it would be great if we could get the posts going on that one to. I have many people who will back up everything i have said... Not to mention the "PROS" played on perfect condition tables of course and we got to play on tables they just slapped together.
