Hey guys havent posted on here for a bit
I used to play a lot but stopped about 1.5 years ago when they closed the only pool hall here in Stratford ON.But passion was always there.I started practicing on my friends table a few times a week lately. And I would like to play in a tournament for a change :)
Do you know of any leagues or even one-day tournaments in K-W area?

1.5 years ago I used to be descent (I once ran the table 3 times in a row of the break on a 9 foot table (8-ball) )Now Im nowhere near that yet but Im trying to get my form back
thanks

Hi Sneaky Russian we have a new amateur tour called the Lucasi Amateur Shootout, it is 8-ball, modified round robin, and it is for CPA 6 or less, or 404 5 handicap or less. If you need more infor the poster is posted on thepoolscene.com. The next event is January 7th at Stroker's in London Ontario, I will be posting an event notice on facebook this week.

Happy New Year!

KW has lots of leagues that play almost any night of the week. They have TAP that I know plays Sunday and Wednesday night. They have CCS that plays Thursday night. They have CPA and also a league called REC.

E-mail me if you want specifics on CCS or TAP.

TAP is The Association for Pool inc and plays out of Chicagos and Frederick Billiards. CCS is the Canadian Cue Sport Association and is the only Canadian based league. It plays out of Press Box, Chicago and Frederick. CPA is the Canadian Pool Association. I am not sure which rooms they play out of.

They are leagues.

TAP I dont know what it stands fore but it sounds like a league to me.CCS is the Canadian Cue Sports and CPA is the Canadian Pool Asociation.Thats what they are.

KW and Guelph are huge for TAP and CPA leagues.
Having just moved from there 6months ago I can say they have some decent players.
TAP is Sun/Mon/Wed/Thurs if I kept count right. CPA is at least 3 days a week as well

TAP contact is Chris Turow (can be found on FB) CPA contact is Gord Fressenden (also on FB)

I've known Chris T(woman) for probably 4yrs and she's a good lady, i've even played on her and her husbands teams. Gord I knew for two yrs and he's also a standup guy.

Pool halls include:

Sun/Mon are played at Frederick St Billiards (under the Frederick st mall)
Sharp Shooters is in North Waterloo across from the Staples - smaller joint, probably goign under in the next yr or so- Bill is the owner, decent guy.
new joint is opening right on King st Kitchener and I don't even know what its called but I believe its by the newer Boston Pizza if I remember correctly (used to be Millsy's place).
there is also Chicago's which has 8-10 tables that both CPA and TAP play out of. George is the owner there who even plays TAP last I knew. Tighter room but nice place and good food.

Hope this helps.
If you want contact emails or such let me know and i'm sure I can get them for you.

Tell them jason anaka sent you.

is there anything running out of Dooly's? I'll be living near there when I go back to school but I never really heard about any leagues in loo (though I did hear rumours here and there about Frederick St.)

Dooly's head office decided about a year ago that if leagues were going to play in their establishment they would have to pay at least $2.00 per person per night. All of the league operators said no. So there are no outside leagues playing there but they do have their own inhouse league.

Roy!
Long time since I've seen you, doesn't help I moved away either.

The green fee's from Dooly's killed a LOT of pool in the KW area - I really used to enjoy the Cambridge Dooly's Sunday league (up to 16 teams at one point) and the Waterloo Dooly's was a great location as well.

Good to see (hear?) you are around. I certainly miss the KW pool scene.

The old place in Kitchener that was called Milsy's has re-opened under new ownership, check it out they have Brunswick gold crowns!

Neil was on one of my teams, I recently heard someone reopened it but didn't know any details since I'm now 1800km away :(

East coast is nice, but no pool scene in my area (good thing I'm building my own 24x24 games room, lol).

Hey Jason. Good to see you are still involved in the pool scene. I've actually got back into playing a lot more pool since I gave up running the CCS. It's fun to just play again.
