Amazon Ball Cleaner - Any Good?

I bought the $130 as a gift for my local league operator. He put it in one of the bars he operates out of. It's been there about 6 months. The bar has 6 diamond tables with serious players on it, that want good/clean equipment. No issues thus far.

Another update - looks like orig version now at $70. Mine's run probably 30-40 times, hasn't broken yet. 😛
WOW. That's nuts! I wonder if they are coming out with a new model and trying to get rid of all of the old ones. That's the pool buy of the decade. Maybe as good a deal as the Dynasphere Tungsten set was at $70 shipped 5 years ago.

Have had one over a year and use it regularly with no issues. As mentioned:
It’s a hefty fellow.
Spinner shifts directions halfway through.
Beats hell out of a Home Depot bucket polisher.
Very happy with it.
Yeah I have one of the Amazon ones and find it works way better than my previous bucket polisher. I don’t use it hard ( or often enough probably) so can’t judge durability yet.

Your set seems to have lost their shine, possibly from the use of the Magic Eraser. This is a set from the 70's cleaned in my ball polisher with a solution of 8 oz. 91% Isopropyl Alcohol to 3 tablespoons Aramith Ball Cleaner.

Your 70’s balls have nice gloss! They are pretty yellow( no knock just stating facts). I personally have an unplayed old set (not sure how old exactly) that’s extremely yellow. Probably sat in a pool hall/ billiard supply for years soaking up nicotine.

I think guys get after it with the Magic erasers to get the balls whiter again.
Had to ask, do you think a set that’s been “cleaned” with a magic eraser could get its shine back? Say using different grit products appropriate to the task in one of the cheap polishers (replaceable cup) models on Amazon as an option?
I used to polish polyester counter surfaces. Takes multiple steps like many polish jobs. just got curious reading the thread if it could be done with balls.

Too many egos don’t realize you’ve thought more about some of these things than most ever care to. Thanks and thanks for documenting your experiences/ journey.

Thanks, I dig them.

I don't think Magic Erasers should be used on pool balls. that being said, I'm sure Aramith Restorer could bring back the luster.

Thanks I have zero experience with polishing balls 🫠 so that’s great to know.
Can’t get through that one without a chuckle. Lol
