Amber Chen beats Allison Fisher in Canada

I can live with the shoot-out, my non playing wife even watched and seemed to like it. Biggest question I have is how did Kelly Fisher not win this thing.
Allison is still fully capable of beating any of the women in short races when she is on.

Kelly made it to the single-elimination stage undefeated (whereas Allison lost her first match, to Chen) and then Kelly lost her first SE match to Allison in a shootout. Looks like Allison made 4 shots in a row in that shootout and Kelly missed 1.

actually i rewatched a bit of the match, and i don't think it's a consistent stroke flaw, probably more nerves. look at the three shots from 39:40 onwards:

she has solid fundamentals overall.
Correct! My guess is that when she gets a little out of sync ( could be nerves), that she tends to pull back her stroke rather quickly instead of just letting the cue come to a natural rest- you see it clearly where you pointed to a specific short time period.

I will bet that the reason she adopted the very short distance one, two warm up stroke was that she once had a tendency to jump off shots too much and the shorter time over the CB allows her to lock in her aim quicker and just release the cue without too much else getting into her head prior to final cue release.

Decreasing your time addressing the cue ball does wonders for players who tend to jump off their shots too early - Can help in golf too!

I would like to see this shootout format reward the person with the most wins (in the two sets) an advantage in the shoot-out in of one mulligan.
So do the shootout as normal, but the set "total games winner" gets one "free-bee" if they miss a spot shot.
Allison was the best player in this tournament imo btw.
She lost 2 times to this lady, so no she wasn’t the best player this week, play next week and she probably would be.
