Anybody else love amboyna? Couple of Gilberts, the 4pt is a jump/break. 8-point was built in 2005.

Lot of wow factor.
Top shelf Amboyna Burl presents the cue maker with a problem. Nothing he can add, points, boxes, inlays, enhances the beauty of the natural burl.
When you get a deep red piece covered in small eyes with no bark or sap wood it can't get any better. Make a merry widow with spectacular rings for the best looking use of the burl.

the cue on the right is the first custom cue i designed and bought from chris nitti
the cue on the left i designed years later is by paul dayton (R.I.P.).it was supposed to be a sort of mirror of the nitti.i added the boxes in the butt

wish i could have it tell you to make me a cue with it .....
Troy Downey does not get enough praise for his work and the playability of his cues. I have one of his snakewood/ebony Gabe Owen series cues- Downey's work is as good as I have seen - his cues should command 50% more than they do on the secondary market. I consider my purchase from a member here as a steal for his cue.

My Downey cue sells new for $975 with 2 shafts.
I paid $400 used with 1 shaft in mint condition.
Then I found a second unknown shaft for $35.00.
I thought I did good.
