American Contingent for WPC Qualifications

Are there any qualifying tournaments for WPC? Or they still go by the current BCA players ranking?

Usually the bulk of the Q'rs are held at the venue, a week ahead.

As far as the regular roster- good question- can the UPA still be providing the names when they have virtually been inactive the whole year?

BCA rankings? What is that?

Read the 'Sticky' in this forum about the qualifiers.

I think qualifier rounds are just to fill-up the rosters. I think each country can actually send players based on their own qualifying events sactioned by WPC. If I remember it correctly BCA/UPA keeps track of their players on who should they send. The same way they select players for the Mosconi Cup.

Alex P. won the Philippine 9-ball National Open so he can also play at WPC even if he wasn't in the top 10 of SMB Asian 9-ball. Just what I remembered reading a while back.

Top 10 asian qualifiers are efren reyes, fransisco bustamante, rodoflo luat and ramil gallego from philipines. Yang ching shun, wu chia ching and chao fong pang from the chinese taipei. Li he wen from china and masaki tanaka from japan. I also know that chan keng kwang and toh lian han are representing singapore for the WPC 2006. Besides that the top 8 players from last year's WPC will also qualify for this yr's event

From how many countries?

43 countries right now are represented in 118 slots in the 2006 Philippines World Pool Championship. An additional 10 slots (up from 8 as previously announced) will be up for grabs in the qualifying tournament from October 28-November 1.

What equipment will they be playing on for the WPC?

I, also, thought Scotland had 2 players in last year, Pat and Valentine?

Can't we claim Parica by now? ... lol

You guys should just ask. He's been wanting to about 2 years ago when he wanted to play in Mosconi Cup for USA but was passed on.

This will rekindle the Reyes-Parica rivalry.

is there somewhere where i can find how everybody qualified for the WPC's?
Last year you could find the info on the website..
But can't find it anywhere anymore...
